Engaging Volunteers: Make Volunteering Meaningful

Tuesday, 29 Oct 2013, 03:00PM

There are many aspects when it comes to engaging volunteers in meaningful and effective ways within our organizations. This session will focus on the basics of volunteer management including how to ensure volunteer opportunities are meaningful to the volunteer and to your organization, targeted recruitment, ongoing support and effective ways to engage volunteers in your mission. A “Volunteer Engagement Checklist” will be shared and used as the guide for this session which includes what to do before you recruit volunteers, writing job descriptions, involved other staff at your organization, interviewing potential volunteers, orientation and training, ongoing support and motivation and putting closure when a volunteer leaves.
