Lisa Humenik has more than 22 years of experience in the field of nonprofit administration and volunteer program management. She has served as President & CEO of Volunteer Southern Arizona, Executive Director of the Amphitheater Public Schools Foundation, and Director of a school-based mentoring program serving 22 districts in eastern Iowa. In addition, she has been the Director of Volunteer Services for health systems in Iowa, Ohio, and Illinois and a Special Projects Manager for Points of Light/HandsOn Network – the worlds largest network of volunteer centers and other stakeholders striving to increase and improve volunteerism.
Lisa has a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit leadership and is a faculty associate at the Arizona State University Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. She has also been a member of the faculty for the nonprofit management certificate program of Iowa State University Extension and for the volunteer management certificate program at the Union Institute in Cincinnati. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and consults with nonprofit organizations in the areas of strategic and community impact planning, community engagement, program and resource development, and volunteer program administration.
She recently relocated from Tucson, Arizona to Madison, Wisconsin and is currently serving as President of the Sigma Kappa National Housing Corporation, a 501(c)(7) organization that engages 200+ volunteers across the country managing campus housing and investments for chapters on 35 campuses across the U.S. She is also a Fellow at Creating the Future, an organization dedicated to changing the questions we ask through community impact planning in order to bring out the best in people, organizations, and communities.
Lisa and her husband, John, have two “adult-ish” kids – Lauren, a junior at Miami University of Ohio, and Brian, who lives and works in Tucson.
