2020 Census, City of Madison

Ben Zeller

City of Madison Planner Ben Zellers specializes in Neighborhood Planning, Comprehensive Planning, Growth Scenario Modeling, Tax IncrementFinancing, Redevelopment, Zoning Administration, Urban Design. He works to support the City of Madison's 2040 Comprehensive Plan with UrbanFootprint.  The plan creates a workable way forward for the City of Madison while combatting the challenges of navigating growth, strengthening community, and creating a more sustainable city.  Zeller attributes this challenge of quantifying future growth scenarios as the catalyst for bringing UrbanFootprint onboard: “We needed a better way to model impacts and benefits of what BRT could do for the city and region.” The thriving City of Madison expects to see a 25% increase in population by 2040. As the city prepares its 2040 Comprehensive Plan update, the need for an enhanced public transit system via bus rapid transit (BRT) emerged as a critical component in supporting a socially equitable future for a growing and increasingly diverse population.
