A.B. Orlik recently celebrated four years as Development Director with the Lussier Community Education Center, a 40-year-old neighborhood center bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds on Madison’s west side. For 11 years before that A.B. was a full-time consultant, catalyst, community builder and meeting facilitator supporting diverse public and private-sector groups committed to health, peace, and justice by designing meetings, gatherings, workshops, and learning circles.

A.B. grew up in Madison, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin, and later participated in Facilitating By Heart through the UW’s Division of Continuing Studies. Her past professional positions include nonprofit CEO, marketing director, state agency program manager, and Medicaid fraud detective.

Today she is an active participant in the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Art of Hosting community, and the UW-sponsored Focus on Facilitation community of practice. She volunteers with Malcolm Shabazz City High School’s Project Green Teen, an eco-based service-learning curriculum culminating in a week-long field trip in Avalanche, Wisconsin.
