Tom Linfield





Tom Linfield At MCF since 2004, Tom has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit world. In his current role he coordinates all competitive and field of interest grantmaking, offers capacity building, counsel and facilitation to non-profits, and serves on the leadership team for the Foundation. Previous roles include Training and Grants Director for the National Center for Outreach, Grants Manager for Wisconsin Public Television, and Foundation/Government Relations Manager for Edgewood College. Tom has served on the board of the UW Bolz School of Arts Administration, The Evjue Foundation, Leadership Greater Madison Alumni Association, The Henry Vilas Zoo, Operation Fresh Start, and Madison Area Open Arts Studios. He is also a fellow of the Funders Network PLACES program. Tom is a practicing fine artist, exhibiting his sculpture, mosaics and drawings regularly. He has a degree in Fine Arts from Brandeis University.

The Madison Community Foundation The mission of Madison Community Foundation is to enhance the common good through philanthropy. Created in 1942, MCF holds permanent endowments for hundreds of nonprofit agencies and manages over $270 million in assets, 97% of which is endowed. Together with agency fund, competitive grantmaking, and donors who direct their own giving, MCF distributes some $15 million annually. As the community’s foundation, MCF plays a vital role in local philanthropy and is unique in its deep knowledge of the community and philanthropic expertise. Together with donors and the nonprofits they support, MCF strives to help the Madison area become a vibrant and generous place where all people thrive.
