The Art of “Not-Networking”
Heather Ferguson
Young Nonprofit Professionals Network
For many, the term "networking" can be fraught with images of forced cocktail mixers and inane small-talk. Yet relationships are at the core of our work in the nonprofit sector, and making meaningful connections can help us feel better supported and expand our reach. In this session, participants will be able to think of networking in a different lens and learn some tangible tools for making the process easier.
Prerequisite or Takeaways
Participants who attend this session will get the chance to reflect personally on what networking can mean to them and think through the ultimate goal of that experience. From there, they will be able to learn a few tangible skills for making those early-on connections and have the chance to practice with their peers.
