Placing a welcome mat in front of the door doesn’t automatically make a space welcoming to all who enter. That feeling of welcomeness and belonging hinges heavily on design. How well a space meets the needs of its various occupants depends on how well those needs are understood. In this session, we’ll learn how to be more intentional in approaching creating physical and virtual spaces. We’ll see what it takes to re-imagine design through new lenses. Especially when so many of the existing areas we occupy have been designed by white males.
