About Nonprofit Day

Our goal is to raise awareness of and celebrate Madison's nonprofit organizations. We want people to know how nonprofits shape their lives, and Madison Nonprofit Day is a once a year opportunity to keep them engaged, connected, and informed.

Learn. Connect. Grow.

Madison Nonprofit Day is a volunteer-driven collaboration to empower change-makers by strengthening the social sector. We work together to build community, enhance collaboration, and expand awareness of the value that social good can bring.

Our goal is to raise awareness, support, and celebrate Madison's nonprofit and social good sectors; and the work they do.

We connect today's and tomorrow’s change-makers; we create diverse programming that strengthen, support, and grow the skills and resources available for community activists, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders; we raise awareness of the nonprofits and the value of the social good economy; and we put on an awe inspiring, one-day skills-building and networking conference.

Nonprofits, businesses and community members from the Greater Madison area will take part in workshops, community events, neighborhood tours, speakers, and other activities as part of the annual Madison Nonprofit Day. While we do provide some year round programming, and actively work on long-term projects throughout the year, most of our efforts are contained to the three (3) month period between July and September. Concluding with our annual #MadisonNonprofitDay Conference.

The daylong event will include workshops and seminars for nonprofit professionals and volunteers as well as a keynote speaker that will discuss contemporary issues facing local and national nonprofits. A variety of activities will provide entertaining ways for community members to learn more about Madison’s nonprofit sector will also be offered, including everything from Neighborhood Nonprofit Tours to short films and informal meet-and-greets to classroom-style learning sessions on a broad range of topics.

Madison has a vibrant, multi-faceted nonprofit sector that significantly contributes to the health and well-being of the region — socially and economically. The goal is to celebrate and raise awareness about Madison’s nonprofit organizations and the work they do. So come join us.
