Nonprofit staff use many management tools to recruit, support, and guide volunteers in the workplace to get work done. While managing volunteers is difficult, keeping a stable, productive volunteer crew engaged over time is even more challenging. Participants will be challenged to apply lessons for volunteer leadership from research with paid workers that address the tough question: “What workplace factors consistently produce an engaged workforce?
