It can be easy to accidentally rely on incorrect assumptions about how to classify employees, especially if your organization is smaller and doesn't have much access to legal advice. This session will help those who hire understand the basics of discerning what work can be done by an independent contractor vs. an employee. We'll also explore how remote work from other states can result in different answers, why misclassification should be avoided, and how to maintain accurate records and keep costs low when hiring employees.
