Scholz Nonprofit Law
Several organizations paying compensation for work rely on incorrect assumptions about how to classify employees. Smaller nonprofits are no exception, they just don't have the same level of access to legal advice. This session will help those who hire understand the basics of discerning what work can be done by an independent contractor vs. an employee, how remote work from other states can result in different answers, why misclassification should be avoided and how to keep accurate recordkeeping feasible and costs low when hiring employees.
