Brittny Wilson

Hi, I'm Brittny! I am the VP of Development & Marketing at a Colorado-based nonprofit. I specialize in building fundraising programs from the ground up and also provide fundraising consulting and leadership coaching. More importantly, I'm the co-host of a weekly podcast called The Nonprofit Reframe about undervalued, under-resourced and unrelenting nonprofits and their staff with my best friend and colleague Nia Wassink. We combine a little bit of sarcasm and a whole lot of humor as we engage in real talk about what it's like working for a nonprofit. Our session is....

Brittny Wilson is the VP of Development & Marketing for a Colorado-based nonprofit. In her current role, she provides strategic leadership, oversight and execution of revenue growth, issue awareness and community engagement. Her experience in the nonprofit sector spans 20 years in roles ranging from marketing & fundraising management to leadership positions. Brittny specializes in building successful fundraising programs from the ground up and provides fundraising consulting and leadership coaching. She helps organizations get out of their own way when it comes to raising critical funds for their vital programs. Whether it's prioritizing tasks with the best ROI, creating new strategies or working to clear mental blocks around making the “ask”, Brittny walks you through the process ensuring accountability and follow-through so you can do more even with few resources. After nearly two decades in the sector at six different organizations, Brittny found that she was facing the same frustrating struggles at each new place. What started as a cathartic exercise between two colleagues exchanging nonprofit stress stories evolved into the premise for a weekly podcast, The Nonprofit Reframe. Together, with co-host Nia Wassink, the duo tackle tough topics and challenge the status quo about undervalued, under-resourced, and unrelenting nonprofits and their staff. Brittny graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in French and Sociology and holds a master's degree in religion from Naropa University. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver. When she’s not griping about #nonprofitlife or helping those navigate it, Brittny likes to spend her free time with her family camping, indulging in all things Americana, and exploring as many national parks as possible.
